So. I’m out of cards, my magical literature is safely stored away and out of my reach and I don’t have penny to my name. Well, that’s not entirely true, I do have one shiny silver dollar left and that’s as good a start as any. So I guess this week will be dedicated to coin magic and whatever else I can get my hands on amongst the household items.

I’ve been spending the last week trying to figure out what it is I want to achieve with magic and how to get there. In short, I have a vision, a quite blurry one at the moment, of what kind of magic I would like to perform. It’s a jumble of ideas for effects, music, a specific movement of a hand, books I’ve read, magicians I admire…

I think it was Tommy Wonder who described how he used to imagine an effect within the confines of his mind, over and over again until it became crystal clear, and only then started to think about how to actually do it in real life. This sounds like a plan to me.

In my next post I’ll try to formulate something more concrete, a plan of some sort. Maybe even come up with a couple of goals!
